QUEST After-School Program [Posted 3/16/04]

QUEST is a Whetstone Park Recreation Center after-school program for children with disabilities. Volunteers are needed to assist with programs ranging from tutoring and mentoring to organizing activities. The program is designed to promote inclusion and self esteem. Volunteer time frame is from 2:30pm-5:00pm and is very flexible. Currently the program holds 5 students with a variety of disabilities. The program is structured as to allow time for the students to work on homework between 3:00pm-4:00pm. Then depending on the day, there are one or two activities planned. Students are at the center between 2:00pm-6:00pm. These are middle school age children. After-school snacks are also provided. Currently, the Quest student group is rather small, but their needs can be great. Once the students are ready, they are enrolled in Whetstone Recreational Activities or activities at their school. If interested, please contact the program coordinator below.
